A new home on Chicago's north shore

Suburban Spec

This speculative single family residence was designed in collaboration with an experienced development team for a previously unbuilt parcel in one of Chicago’s north shore suburbs.

Although the home only has one story above grade, the roof and front facade were shaped and scaled to give the impression of a larger, two story home.

The project is located on an irregularly shaped parcel with strict siting and setback requirements.  Our team studied numerous siting options, working closely with the developers to balance programmatic needs with code requirements and the desired street presence.

Simple, daylit interiors support modern living and aging in place.

During the construction documents phase, a buyer entered the picture and the final design was tailored to their specific needs.
