This 1913 worker’s cottage was cramped, dark and in disrepair. A complete renovation opened up the interior and restored the original porch, creating a welcoming new exterior and a bright interior.
The exterior siding was removed back to the sheathing, and new prefinished cement board was installed. New windows and roofing create a crisp and tailored palette. Inside, walls were removed on the first floor, creating a bright and open plan with daylight from all four exposures.
Monochromatic white finishes create a bright and calm backdrop for family life. On the porch, a bead board ceiling with a clear finish adds a touch of warmth.
